Memorable Visit to Davao

During our recent holiday to the Philippines we had an occasion to visit Davao for the first time. The journey to Davao was made in the company of Greg and Rose Longcob the husband and wife team who manage the administration of Bethany Christian Home for Children in Talakag, Bukidnon along with my wife Marilou’s tita Mrs Caring Garcia. I am new to this network and Thank you Sir for adding me then.

I have a brother who is now base in UK, here daughter Nicole Rose Alonzo was diagnosed with biliary atresia won 3 gold medals in transplant games last year and just the other day she won other gold medals in Sheffield transplant games. http://www.nuh.nhs.uk/newsdesk/pressreleases/2007/Sept/260907.htm

With regard to our works, our primordial concern is PEACE in Mindanao. We are all praying that the government officials will set aside their vested interest for their own political ambitions. We are affected with these 40 years of conflict and we cannot tolerate more to lost innocent civilians lives.

Thanks.
Mary

Hi Jim. Thank you for inviting me to be one of your friends at Taboan. I also appreciate the work you're doing for the children in Mindanao, especially the Lumads or members of the indigenous peoples. I am also engaged in the work for children in our region, particularly in the areas of social policy and local development. I hope that we could exchange productive ideas about working for children's rights. Keep in touch.

Ay Jim, I just read your blog about Bae Sonita Manlin Mande Ryde... You know, I came into contact with her niece through Friendster, just recently, who forwarded my telephone number to her auntie. Bae Sonita called me up, just a couple of days later. We talked on the phone for about one hour. And just the day before, she informed me that they found a Subanen kutapi (boat lute) player. I'm now planning another trip to the Philippines for this coming Dec-Febr, so that I might meet Bae Sonita in the near future... What an accident that you just ran into me on this site now... Regards
